Hi! I’m Katherine

I operate kppottery out of my home studio in Pinecrest, Florida. My pottery journey started over 20 years ago when I was a senior in college in North Carolina. Faced with the pressure of trying to figure out what to do with the rest of my life, I took a pottery class and instantly fell in love.
When I’m sitting at the wheel, everything else just melts away. I can focus without distractions. It’s when I feel truly present.
After college, I took another pottery class in Phoenix, Arizona. From there, I bounced around for a few years, moving to Madrid, back to Phoenix, on to Michigan, and then to Caracas, Venezuela, before I finally settled down in Miami. I put pottery on the back burner while I raised my family and worked in corporate finance. Now that my kiddos are off to college and I’ve stepped away from corporate life, I finally have the time to refocus my energy on my first passion: pottery.
“The meaning of life is to find your gift. The purpose of life is to give it away.” Pablo Picasso

Early on
I am so fascinated by photography and it’s capability to bring your imagination to amazing places. Early on, I fell in love with the idea of filming my own productions, so I set out to learn everything I could.
Current
I have been teaching myself filmmaking for the past four and a half years and I’m still learning every day. I am building my business as a freelance filmmaker, as well as working on my own photo shoots.
